Swisscom's operations building on Binzring in Zurich (built in 1993) houses several data centers as well as offices. Over the years, various building services systems had reached the end of their lifecycle and needed to be replaced. In order to increase the capacity of the building in terms of electrical and cooling supply to a total of 4 MW, the new systems were dimensioned larger. At the same time, the security of the building's shell had to be upgraded by installing a security lodge and various new monitoring systems.

From the new energy consumers in the building, such as the data center B1N2 with 670m2, which was built at the same time, to the heat consumers in the connected thermal network, the building's energy supply now forms a future-oriented entity, based on state-of-the-art technology.

MBA coordinated the planning teams which carried out the demanding planning and implementation in sub-projects with a construction sum of around 42 million CHF.
